  DAY 1

Me and Riley were flying in a plane across the South Island bush.then all of a sudden a Voice over the intercom said to get some parachutes and jump. me and Riley grabbed two parachutes and grabbed our pig dog Rosie.

We harnessed ourselves first then harnessed Rosie to me. Me and Riley grabbed the survival pack which had 2 Machetes, 2 Axes,Spade,Flint and steel,First aid kit, 2 sleeping bags and pots and pans.  we Also had our belts with our Pig sticking knives And our pocket knives Also had the 22 And 47 bullets. I saw my compound bow sitting there so I grabbed it before we jumped it Had 5 arrows in the holder on it and I grabbed the rest of the arrows so that made 8 arrows altogether.

We Jumped out the cockpit door and we Got about 30 meters down and then we pulled our parachutes. Then half an hour later when we reached the ground we landed in some trees. That first night we built a small hut out of  some branches and we built a fire.  We slept that night in our Sleeping bags.

 

 

DAY2

Early in the morning me and Riley got up. Riley went and searched for water and I went in search of the plane as well as food. 

In 20 minutes Riley had found near a stream Flowing with pretty fresh water that might have had bacteria so he boiled it when he got back.

Meanwhile I was looking for the plane when I saw a rabbit on a perch I shot it with the bow straight through the head Just as I was getting it I saw the plane 70 meters away Nothing left but scrap metal and some other burnt stuff. I grab some of them sharp metal back at the camp maybe I could make a spear or something i was about to walk away I saw something poking out of the middle of the plane it was the Rifle that I was looking at while we were flying A man held it at the side of the set next to me. I made my way through the scrap metal until I could just reach it then I saw some bullets it was even better I had about 37 bullets in a little pouch plus it was a 308.

I brought it back to the camp Riley was shocked when he saw me coming I told him what happened And how I found the gun and the plane.

While the water was cooling down Riley and me went over to the parachutes and where we landed We pull them down from The Tangled trees Only a few rip so we can use them for something There was plenty of rope we Drag it back to the camp anyway.

The hut was falling apart So me and Riley decided to make a bigger and stronger one It took us about 5 to 6 hours it Was getting dark so we Started to cook the rabbit that I shot.

DAY 3

The morning meant Riley sort of slept in first thing we relit the fire from last night.

After Me and Riley both agreed that we should probably shoot something with the rifle like a small deer or something.

After I went down to the small Creek to get some water I got sidetrack and started following it downstream It lead into a bigger stream Just as I was about to leave I saw a trout I tried to catch it but it slip away If I had my bow I would have been able to shot it easily but If I mist I would lose a good arrow. I would have to make another bow out of some rope and a bendy stick. Then I could make two or three arrows and then shoot some.

when I got back to Camp I told Riley that I found some trout down the Stream.I started to make my bow.

By about 1 Oclock in the afternoon I had finished my bow But I only had one arrow So I went down to the Stream where I saw the trout It took me about 15 minutes then I saw a nice one to shoot Just outside pulling my bow back ready to shoot I slipped on a rock And fell into the water it Scared the trout away In another 15 minutes I found a better one to shoot And I made sure I was stable and I wouldn't fall then I shot it went straight into it then it flipped around in the water I jumped into grab it Held up in the air and climbed out of the water.

I got back to camp Riley was glad that I had shot a nice eating fish.We cooked it up on the fire and Rosie caught a nice fat possum for herself.  And then went to sleep.

DAY 4

I I woke up but Riley wasn't there I remember him telling me that He would go shoot a fish in the morning for us to eat.

When Riley got back the fire was cranking he had shot to nice fish. We Put them on two sticks with a v at the top And a stick in between And then we turn them slowly till they crackle We Gobbled them up and gave the leftovers to Rosie.

The afternoon me and Riley thought we would try to go catch a small Pig with Rosie. We bought the 308 in case we saw something like a deer.

We looked around for about 3 hours and had no luck but On the way home we saw a rabbit Riley lined it up and shot it with the 308. it Pretty much blew it's whole head off.

 We cooked it up on the fire We gave the guts to Rosie and went to sleep.

DAY 5

We heard a sound crashing through the bush Was 2 kids with a 22 and a 7 mil 08 they were walking towards us and we said what is your names they replied back my name is Cooper and bayden we

can we stay with you guys?'' We said yes. We made a  bivouac at night while Cooper Went to shoot a fish down in the river with the 22 bayden had a pisdill with a 100 bullets

In the morning Taz and Riley went to go to shoot a pig for breakfast Then they spotted a deer so they shot that we got good i Philips. Bayden and Cooper Shoot some possums for dog food.

Baden and Cooper got 20 Possums and a pig They got the skins off the pig and possums Cooper and Baden head a tanning kit each so they tended them as well and made them into jackets.It started snowing a lot more and getting colder. And Taz and Riley got a good skin of the deer And they tend that with Bayden and Coopers tanning kit.We found a good Cabin that had been built last year.It's head a fireplace 4 beds Ascent what's running water a gas califont shower. We decided we will stay in it for  2 months. And then decide from then.

If you want to know where the octopus lives, they live in the western Cape, South Africa .

When the octopus  gets scared they hide in the rocks and they blend in with it so it Doesn't get Hurt by the pj shark. Craig Forster  is the one that is not Scared of the octopus. It is hard to get in the Water because it is 8-9 Degrees Celsius. Craig is the one Who treats the octopus like it's his own family.  The octopus has 2000 Suckers.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Imagine all those other things we could do instead of going to school

I strongly believe that Friday at School should be Optional.  Do you Think Fridays At School Should Be Optional ?  Well I am going to convince you right now.

When I grow up I want to be a dairy farmer. We all need time to learn how To do what we want to do when we grow up, so l need Fridays to learn how to farm properly. Weekends are just not enough!  If I was to make money, Dairy farming. I could work 12 hours every Friday. I get paid $9 an hour And if I worked on Fridays for 12 hours I could earn $108.  If I did this every week it would be about  $5,600 a Year. Sounds good to me

Having a break from school can be very relaxing. But this is what the weekends are for. If Fridays at school were optional, then if you weren't at school, you would need to be having a productive day elsewhere. If people thought you were having a lazy 3-day weekend they would probably get  jealous. Even though you are not at school on Fridays it doesn't mean that you stop learning. 

Imagine all the exercise that you could do if you had  Friday off. Exercise is Important for your body for many reasons. It keeps you fit, which helps with your heart and muscles. It helps to keep your blood flowing. Being fit means that you can help do jobs better because you have more energy. Exercise can also help you to feel better in your mind. If I had Fridays off I would run down the driveway, ride my bike and play rugby.  These activities keep me fit.

When kids have Fridays off it can make it easier for the teachers, Because having 28 students in your  class can be very annoying. (I know because I am in my Mum’s class and sometimes I annoy her) Also if the teachers can get A day off School So why don't we?  

Some things you Can do on your extra day off, would be learning outside, hunting, fishing and motorbike riding.  All of these things can teach you important skills.  For example you learn how to control pests when you are hunting, you also learn about the environment and what different plants are called.  Fishing can teach you skills like tying knots and It teaches you how to be a survivor and live on the seafood you collect.   

These are the Reasons Fridays at school should be optional. Thank you for listening to my speech

Wednesdays torture

Hunger

 Water running down my throat. It smelt like plum jam dark like the night. As I ate it, it tasted like plum jam and cream. As it sat in front of me it looked like fresh cream from the cows.

INGREDIENTS

• ​3 cups Edmonds standard flour

• 6 tsp Edmonds baking powder             

• ¼ tsp salt                                            

• extra Meadow Fresh milk

• 75g butter

• 1 to 1½ cups Meadow Fresh milk, approximately

METHOD

1. ​Preheat the oven to 220ºC. Grease or flour a baking tray.
   
   

2. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
   
   

3. Add the milk and quickly mix with a round-bladed table knife to a soft dough. For light and tender scones the mixture should be quite soft and a little sticky. Scrape the dough onto the floured baking tray and flour the top.
   
   

4. Working quickly, pat the dough out to 2cm thickness and with a floured knife cut it into 12 even-sized pieces, then separate the scones to allow 2cm space between them. Brush the tops with milk.
   
   

5. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Place on a wire rack to cool, wrapped in a clean tea towel to keep them soft.
